Job Description

Akkodis is looking for a Design Engineer III to support the ELSP (Smart Power) business in Bloomfield, CT . The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical/electrical design experience, with a focus on CAD, product development, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration in an industrial or electrical distribution environment.

Pay Range: $40-$50/hour ; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead CAD-based product design and development using PTC Creo/Windchill
• Create 3D models, assemblies, detailed drawings, and BOMs for mechanical/electrical parts
• Ensure documentation accuracy: drawings, risk assessments, cost estimates, and root cause analysis
• Maintain product documentation, manuals, and design/test records
• Coordinate with R&D and manufacturing teams; support product validation and implementation
• Conduct technical reviews and design feasibility analysis
• Travel may be required (domestic/international)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical /Electrical Engineering, or similar, and minimum 3 years design engineering experience, including product development of industrial and/or electrical distribution products
• Proficiency in Creo (design) and Windchill (PLM); SAP familiarity a plus
• Background in Low Voltage Switchboards; knowledge of UL 891, UL 50/50E, NEC preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; experience working across global teams
