Metallurgist (85-100K+)

We are seeking a Metallurgist to join an established manufacturer located in the Syracuse, NY area.

Your Role :

• Evaluate the physical and chemical behavior of alloys throughout the casting process.
• Conduct root cause analysis and provide solutions to quality issues.
• Lead metallographic studies and delegate preparation/evaluation tasks.
• Oversee chemical, tensile, and hardness testing.
• Coordinate with outside labs for material characterization.
• Support process improvement, scrap reduction, and productivity initiatives.
• Inspect castings and interpret customer specifications.
• Provide technical support across engineering, production, and quality departments.
• Contribute to welder qualification and NADCAP related efforts.

Experience / Education Profile :

• BS in Metallurgy or Materials Engineering or related degree.
• 3+ years of work experience in investment casting, including stainless steel, cobalt, and nickel alloys.
• Knowledge of solidification principles, heat treating, welding, and defect analysis.
• Hands-on experience with metallography, chemical analysis, and materials testing.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
